The Hero's Journey is the template upon which the vast majority of successful stories and Hollywood blockbusters are based upon. In fact, ALL of the hundreds of Hollywood movies we have deconstructed (see URL below) are based on this 188 stage template.
Understanding this template is a priority for story or screenwriters.
There is only one story.
The Hero's Journey:
a) Attempts to tap into unconscious expectations the audience has regarding what a story is and how it should be told.
b) Gives the writer more structural elements than simply three or four acts, plot points, mid point and so on.
c) Gives you a tangible process for building and releasing dissonance (establishing and achieving catharsis).
d) Gives you a universal structural template upon which you can superimpose your situational story.

It is not unusual, before the Seizing of the Sword, for the hero to be separated from some or all allies or enemies. For example:
In Star Wars (1977), Luke et al leave C3PO and R2D2 behind.
In Dances with Wolves (1990), Kicking Bird and Wind in his Hair go off to fight the Pawnee.
In Goodfellas (1990), Henry is separated from Karen upon entering prison.
In Carlito's Way (1993), Gail distances herself from Carlito when he agrees to help break Tony T out of prison.

Where can i download the new star wars ebook for free?
Hello, i'm really really looking for star wars novel: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Star Wars Republic Commando: Order 66, Star Wars Millennium Falcon, and Star Wars The Clone Wars (karen traviss). But sadly, i can't find it anywhere and i can't find it in my country. So please help me, where can i download those books for free (in any format)? Thank you very much for your helps!
You won't find them anywhere as "ebooks" as they are not ebooks ... I know what you're saying when you say that but there is a difference.
Those books are very easy to find at amazon.com as that is where I order all my Star Wars books from but of course that's not free.
Best bet would be any of the torrent or p2p sites although I haven't seen any of those titles there as of yet.
Before people start to lecture me on that being illegal ... yes, in the bare nature of it this is illegal but in many ways these sites get material out to people who would have otherwise never been able to get. Do I feel for the authors ... a little but only a very little. They've made their money on the books already and to be honest many authors don't find it to be a bad thing because it gets their writings out to more people and in that respect it is free publicity for them.
