If I write an android app, will it work on the kindle fire?

So, I have been learning java for a bit and want to go to a camp to learn how to develop google android apps. This is what they say ill do in the course:

"Utilizing the Android SDK by Google, you’ll learn to write managed code in the Java language, controlling the device via Google-developed Java libraries. "

So, with the knowledge I gain there, do you think an app I make there will work fine on the kindle fire which runs android? I know little to nothing about app development right now, sorry XD.
Oh, also, I dont necessarily want this in the app store, but I want to be able to run it of course on my own kindle fire, this is easily possible right?

yes, probably it will run fine. but, you would have to get it listed in amazon apps store for most kindles to see it. not as easy as getting into the google apps store or just sideloading... but sure it can be done.

the android SDK has emulators to let you run/test your code anyway, so you can dev the app pretty much completely before you have to worry about getting it into the actual device.

edit -

no, i think it is not very easy on the kindle fire :( maybe you can root it, but out of the box the fire will only install apps from the amazon app store. most android devices would let you just load the app right from your PC to it and run, but kindle is locked down.
