A question about Kindle?

My dad has offered to buy me a Kindle, because he knows how much I love to read. But I don't want him to waste his money if it is not worth buying, so is it? And another thing I was wondering is how do you download books on to it, and can you somehow shift your PDF format books from a PC to a Kindle??

If you like to read the Kindle is a great gadget to own. The Kindle supports PDF files now so you simply connect your USB cable to your Kindle and run it to your computer then just drop your PDF files into the Kindle. They are ready to go. I download most of my books in PDF format since I can find most of them free this way.
