Broken Kindle: dark spot on the screen?

I have an original Amazon Kindle. One day, a spot appears in the corner of the screen. When I use the Kindle, which corner is cleared. When I turn off the Kindle, the corner shows a piece of work. The place seems to be magnitude. Does anyone have an idea of what it is or how to rectify it?? You thank you!
