What's in my purse?!
Is it worth it to get a Nook Color for college?
Instead of buying textbooks, and hoping they actually have the textbooks available for download, is it worth it to pay for a Nook Color and tote that around instead of huge books? In addition, to anyone who has a Nook Color, in college or not, is it a good investment and do you like using it?

Check online to see what textbooks are available for Nook. If you Google you will find what you're looking for. (Google: Nook textbooks)
For reading, I much prefer Kindle, easier on the eyes, and they may have more textbooks, worth looking into. If they had more textbooks on Nook and Kindle, I'd buy one of each for my son, since color is important for some subjects. (I always get a second set of textbooks for my son to keep at home, so one set on e-readers would cost about the same. We pay about $1000 a year for the first set, I buy the second set used, but still used they aren't cheap. He has 5+ hours of homework each night at his private school, so just being able to search for terms in books in a second on an e-reader would make the cost worth it.) He uses mostly college textbooks for his high school classes, but so far not enough of what he needs are available to make it worth it to purchase the e-readers.
I really like reading actual books, so using e-readers was an adjustment for me, but just the convenience of the size of the Kindle and Nook is such an advantage.
