How to clean room after pigeons live in it?
I have 4 fantail domestically-bred pigeons. Due to complications, I had to let them live inside a storage room for a couple of days (they were living in a pen). Now, there are pigeon droppings and feathers strewn about the immediate area near the pen. The feathers also got into little nooks and crannies in the room. I am moving them out, but my questions is, How do I get the feathers out? I know I have to simply scrape and scrub the poop off, but will the room be unsafe to be in? How do I clean after these pigeons? Will I get sick because of this?
You're fine. No, the room will not be unsafe - anymore than a room that's had four parakeets or cockatiels or canaries or any other bird would be. Just vacuum up the feathers, sweep up the droppings, and wash down the immediate area the same as you would if your dog or kid or canary had crapped on the floor and you're fine.
