Vlog 20100727 Stupid Nook Tricks

Should I convert my formal dining room to a formal office? My concern is re-sell value in maybe 10 years?
I have never used the dining room as a dining room. I have a very large kitchen with more than just "eat-in" or breakfast nook space. There is room for a full sized table, and multiple counter seating, which I always use. I would like to open up a large wall in the formal dining room and install built in book cases, and ultimately convert to a formal office. Do you think this would possibly de-value my home if and when I sell in maybe 10 years, without the house having a formal dining room?
Dining rooms were out for awhile, now they seem to be coming back. My thoughts are, why not live in your own house the way you want to live. Other people's needs aren't really an issue while you are in the house. If/when you decide to sell, worry about it then.
A hot gift idea for this holiday season is the Amazon Kindle. Ebook readers have reached a high level of popularity among everyone from the book lovers to the techy geeks. Of the many reasons why ebook readers are so popular, the top reason has to be portability. You can carry thousands of books with you as you go everywhere and anywhere. Can you imagine trying to lug around all those books? No doubt the ability to transport your library with you everywhere you go is very appealing.
The Kindle is quite popular among the ebook readers, but there are other options to consider. Border's, Sony, Sharper Image, and Barnes and Noble all sell their own versions. Border's sells the Kobo ereader. Sony makes a several kinds of ereaders, the touch edition, pocket edition, and daily edition. Barnes and Noble makes 2 ebook readers, the Nook and NookColor. Sharper Image makes an ebook reader, Literati, which is new to the market. One should consider getting a protective case too, such as Nook covers or Nook color covers.
Not all ebook readers are the same. Some ereaders are black and white just like regular books. The Nook, Kobo, and Kindle are like this because they use eInk technology. This eInk technology is designed so that you can read your ereader just like a book. This includes going outside in full sunlight or sitting on your couch with the shades pulled open to see the sun. You'll be able to read very easily. In contrast, when it's dark you'll need to worry about the lighting conditions in the room because the screen is not back lit. Color ebook readers are back lit so you can read them in dark rooms, but not so much in fully bright areas. The screen will wash out.
