Nook, Kindle, backlight?
OK, so I'm looking to buy either the Nook or Kindle (heavily leaning towards Nook after reading reviews).
Can you read either of these in the dark? It stupefies me to know that you can't have the capability to read it at bed at night.
Hopefully someone can shed some light (get it?) on whether or not either product can be read with limited lighting. I understand it's easier on the eyes not to read with a backlight, but the capability should be there in my opinion.
Second to whether you can read them at night is: Any word on upcoming releases that may include a backlight?
Thank you!
Its an either or thing right now, you can't have it both ways. You can either have something that's backlit or you can have something that is e-ink and doesn't strain the eyes. Its been a non-issue for me, I just use a booklit if I need to.
Just curious what reviews you've read? Many of the reviews I saw for the nook were very scathing when it first released as far as the technical problems it was having though I understand they've worked a few of them out. I've also hear nothing good about B&N's customer service and their bookstore has a few fewer current books and slightly more expensive prices than Amazon has.
