ebook reader suitable for children's books?
I've found several sites with quality children's literature available in free ebook formats. Is there a reasonably priced ebook reader that accepts .pdf's & .jpg's and would display pages of a picture book as they would normally appear in the real book? I don't need any fancy features like 3G or wi-fi or even a touch screen, just color display and acceptance of common formats found on free ebook sites. (I hate the thought of printing all of this stuff out and binding it.)
If you want color display, then you need to get a PDA or netbook. However, I'll say color LCD screen is not good for reading as it is backlit, and it will hurt your children's eye for long term.
If you can accept non-color screen, I'll say the Amazon Kindle is best for children. It has e-ink screen that will not hurt our eyes even for long hours of reading. It has a huge category of children books (where ebooks are sold cheaper than actual books), and you can get free books on the Kindle too:

Finally, in case you don't know, Amazon has recently put a price slash on the Kindle 2, and it is now selling $100 cheaper than the price I got my Kindle, and it adds in international wireless access and native PDF support... So take the chance if you want it.
