The Kindle 2 "experimental" wireless Web browser is really free?
I'm confused, I bought a Kindle 2, I love it - But something does not quite make sense and I could really use some clarification. The Kindle allows me to surf the Web wirelessly when I want it does not make much economic sense for amazon (because their 3g ATNT using the wireless network). So is it really free web browsing for use unlimited? Or will I find my Amazon account to pay an invoice within 30 days? Are there any hidden costs I am supposed to be worrying about here? Yes it is truly free. I suspect part of the reason they can afford is that this is not a very good web browser. Fine for checking the weather or the road but not too nice for that "surf", most people will not use it as this. Plus he only receives text and monochrome images small so that the amount of data sent must be quite modest. And finally, I am sure that Amazon has negotiated a much better agreement with AT & T that you might get if you were paying directly.
