"An Abundance of Katherines" is written by award-winning author John Green (award went to his first book "Looking For Alaska). This was his second book published and quite a favorite among young readers. Here is a brief summary:

Colin Singleton a child prodigy who has just graduated from high school and was then dumped by his girlfriend - Katherine # 19. His penchant for girls who will not dating named Katherine and her experience over the years to touch, funny, romantic and intelligent story of growing up. With his best friend expensive, Hassan - a friend who dreads the idea of going to college and just watch Judge Judy that the study - they decide to take the road was finally taking the town of Gutshot, Tennessee. New friends are made, relationships are built and maybe, just maybe, Colin can finally discover the elusive theorem which should solve the riddle of being dumped and to be the dumpee.

This type book is good for adults young and old ... but happier to young adults. I particularly liked the characters and each unique personality. Colin is a child prodigy (read "nerd") whose answers sometimes tongue-in-how for the funniest lines in the book. Hassan is a riot and made for the good comic relief. The Gutshot characters are all unique in their own way, and the use of footnotes (which were hilarious) helped to make reading interactive and fun.

I did not like the mathematical approach to most things. I thought the story gets bogged down a little, and as I am not a monster of mathematics, I found it both interesting and yet odd that everyone would be linked to Math. All absolutely fascinating actually.

This book made me feel good. I laughed, I groaned, I cried and rooted for two supposed underdogs of society who seek only love and acceptance in their own way. I recommend this book because it is a pleasure Quick and easy to read for one in the mood for a romantic story with a little twist.

An abundance of Katherines was taken on a whim, Perhaps because of its catchy cover, but once I picked it up, I could not put it down and I was immediately attracted in the lives of the characters and wanted to know more. It is also a book that "teaches" not only on the interaction of man, but few facts historical anagramming (which, I think I become addicted to), cultures, languages and be prepared to accept new things and changes. I think it a must-read for teenagers.
