I see that Amazon is offering ebooks if you download Kindle for Mac. Is the Kindle for Mac application free and is it all I need to get Amazon ebooks? (after I pay for the ebook itself) I am looking to download a textbook on my Macbook.
The reader application is free, and some books are free as well. But not all of them. You'll need to create an account at Amazon if you don't have one already, and associate a credit card with that account even if you only want the free ebooks.
