sharper image literati VS Kindle 3 which ones better?
What are your opinions on this items I'm stuck between the two like which one has the better battery life, or which has more college books available? Or if you think you've found a better e-reader let me know please and thank you =D
Kindle has the better battery life because the other is LCD and not e-ink. Both are pretty chintzy hardware but if your main objective is an inexpensive device for long-form reading, the wi-fi Kobo is going to be your better value considering that it connects via wi-fi to the Kobo e-bookstore and that store has the most e-mail coupon codes. The device isn't as packed with features as some, but it does the basics well and affordably, including library borrowing, something that Kindle can't do and probably never will. If you're looking for more features and/or higher end hardware, the Sony models have the brand new touch screen technology that none of the others has. Sony is the innovator in e-ink readers, not Kindle. Sony is not only the trendsetter in readers but has always made high quality hardware and the Kindle 3 is the chintziest device around. I'm speaking from experience here, having had a Sony for five years trouble free and now being on my third Kindle due to hardware failure.
Go to Overdrive.com and enter your zip code to find a local consortium that lends e-books. Then consider whether borrowing is a priority for you. Borrowing instead of buying e-books means that the device can pay for itself in mere months. Check out prices and availability at Amazon. Then, still factoring in the library borrowing feature, check out prices and availability at Kobo, Sony, Borders and Books on Board realizing that Kobo has frequent coupon codes and Borders rewards are applicable to many e-books.
