3rd Generation Kindle battery life?
Can anyone give me a better idea about the battery life of a 3rd generation Kindle? I just got one for Christmas and have used it to read about 1/2 a book (and download one other book), and the battery life is already down to only about 1/3rd of a charge.
According to the website, though, the battery life is supposed to be 1 month w/wi-fi off and 10 days w/wi-fi on. I had the wi-fi on at first, but then I turned it off. Also, I have about 500 books on the Kindle; does storing more books on it decrease battery life?
If someone could give me a better idea about battery life I should expect or info on where to find better statistics, I'd really appreciate it.

Books are stored in flash memory. This requires no power just to keep them stored.
I've had my Kindle 3 about 3 months now. The battery estimates given by Amazon are optimistic, but no hugely so. I get about 1 week of use if I leave the wireless on, and about 3 weeks if not.
If you wish to optimize battery life, turn it completely off when not using it. This is done by sliding the power switch and holding it for 7 seconds until the screen blanks. Then it is completely off and will use no power. Normal powering off puts it in a low power sleep mode.
