How does the Amazon Kindle handle PDF files?
I've been using my tiny little Ipod Touch for years now to read books and converted PDF files, technology has come a loong way and I'm think about buying a Kindle.
My question is do the new Kindles support ebooks in PDF format? I've got a couple hundred or so pdf's, epub, and random other text files of my own and I'm worried they might not work on the Kindle. Amazon's website says the kindle will "read other types of non-DRM text-based content on your Kindle".
Do you guys have kindles, and have you dropped some of your own downloaded or personal books on it?
Kindles do support .pdf. They do not support epub.
Other documents like Word files can be converted by Amazon to the Kindle format. Also I think free software known as Calibre will also do that.
