Is there hope for an application Kindle in universities
The Kindle DX has been designed specifically for use in schools. The system has a 10 cool "screen that makes it very easy to read documents, textbooks and other classroom materials. It is easy to use, is lightweight and reduces the cost of books in college and university at least half of what you have to pay to the school library. So what's the problem? The use of the application Kindle in universities and public schools is no longer supported or encouraged.
A small loophole has effectively eliminated support of the eReader in schools. Unfortunately, the designers have thought of everything when construction of the eReader, except they did not read the laws on disabilities United State law and its relationship to education in the United States. A tiny flaw yes, but still fatal.
During the test phase of the eReader to four major universities, it was found that there was no way that students with visual impairments can use the menu and navigation functions of the drive to access to books that are available text-speak. This problem eventually rose to the Department of Justice, where it was decided that, since the system does not meet regulations ADA, it can not be used in public schools.
Universities have decided that the DX Kindle and other e-books will not provided, promotion, or recommended, unless they are accessible to students with visual impairments. It was agreed by all concerned that the use of an eReader in schools is an excellent idea and will eventually bring the service that comes with the legal system at considerable profit.
Kindle is working on a fix for this problem and said they should have something by summer. Unfortunately once a company has been thrown under the bus, they generally remain shrunken. The question is really more than the eReader, This the incredible benefits that most education systems are the sale of books. And the fact that the eReader will remove a large portion of profits by people who are very comfortable with the status quo as it is. Another issue is copyright and loan university libraries. According to the article " Why Universities should make the manuals are available on e-readers, "the problem is that Amazon states that it is not allowed to give lighter, and although representatives of Amazon verbally give the nod, it was not written (Digital Readers Book).
When a student full-time preparing for a semester in a college or university, several thousands of dollars were paid to be spent on books and compulsory subjects which are sold to the library of the university. While there have been several laws and regulations adopted in order to maintain reasonable prices of textbooks, which did not result in savings to the student. Find other ways to obtain books are required for courses are constantly explored by students seeking an education.
As anyone who uses a system speech recognition on their computer at home knows, there are simple ways to integrate voice commands for menu and navigation program. Kindle DX and other eReaders will probably use these same tools on their eReader to make it functional for any student in an educational context.
Even with the restriction on sales and implementation eReaders Kindle in universities, more than ten million students are using applications. While the struggle may continue for several years in academia and the judiciary, many students find they can control at least a portion of the money that is spent on their education by obtaining an eReader which has the same advantages as the Kindle eReader offers.
