Different and Better
I have both 1 Kindle and Kindle 2 so I am already committed to the basic idea: reading e-ink in a thin form factor with an excellent connectivity to a wide range of books and subscriptions. I learned to rely on my experience Kindle, and it has seriously improved my reading.
The Kindle Wireless Global DX was not an obvious upgrade for me, but two points to put me on the edge: the larger screen, and the native PDF reader. I Now the Kindle DX Global Wireless in my hands, and can report advantages, disadvantages, and neutral
FOR:
- The largest screen is a plus. I use the larger type on my Kindle 2 (over the eyes), and the size of type I get a lot more text per page on the Kindle Wireless DX world. This makes the reading experience more like a whole book (and should be a boon for people who buy books in large print.)
- The screen is also clearer and clearer that my Kindle 2 in a side by side comparison: the text is darker and the contrast is better, which makes for a better overall visibility.
- On a side note, the larger screen also allows to read poetry on the Kindle even at large print sizes. Stimulates the earlier, smaller screen cutting lines, so you lose the sense of purpose when the poet of the line. On the DX Kindle Wireless World, you can see the whole line exactly as the poet he meant, with the cut in the right place.
- The PDF reader works as advertised and is very convenient. View PDFs on the Kindle Wireless Global DX exactly as they do on a computer screen. In Additionally, you can drag and drop your documents directly to the device via USB cable (or use the email-a fee-If you absolutely must.) The only drawback: at least for the documents I have used so far, I can not adjust the font size that I can with the documents Kindle natives.

- Storage: I like the increase in space storage, and do not mind the lack of external storage card. I see some people having problems with it, but only those people who, either a) must be regularly through PDF documents totaling more than 3.5 GB of space or b) have nearly 3,500 books regularly at their fingertips. I fall into any category.
CONS:
- Price: it's expensive, as you can fairly quickly. If you value most large, and the native PDF reader, these characteristics may justify the premium of approximately 30% that you pay for the Kindle wireless DX world within 2 Kindle. Indeed, Kindle DX Global Wireless is expected to cost more than the Kindle 2, and a premium of 30% is not unreasonable. But for my money, Amazon should lower the price Kindle 2-300 $ or more, and charge $ 400 or less for the Kindle wireless DX world. But I bought it, and it takes at this price.
- Navigation buttons sided: all buttons are now on the right side and none on the left. I'm right handed, so I should not complain, but I found myself using both sides of the Kindle 2. Lefties are right to complain, I think.
- The manipulation of one hand: I read often while I walk with my Kindle in hand, and something else in my other. Because of the layout of buttons, it will be harder on the wireless Kindle DX World.
- Metal stand: I lack the support sticky rubber on my Kindle 1. When I put my Kindle on an inclined surface, it remained in place. Not so my Kindle 2 DX and now my Kindle Wireless Global. This is not a specific complaint over Kindle DX world, but it is still there.
Neutral (ie, something to note):
- Weight: Kindle DX Global Wireless is heavier, then substantially. It's only a matter if, like me, you regularly use Kindle with one hand. . . Even so, it is still feasible.
- Keyboard: The keyboard has 4 lines, and not 5: the top row of numbers 1 and 2 of Kindle has been merged into the top row QWERTY, while the numbers are now accessible only with an Alt key. The keys are too thin vertically, so that the entire keyboard is no more than 1 inch (compared to over 1.5 "on Kindle 2). At the same time, the keys are a bit easier to press a little more prominent than on the Kindle 2. For someone with big fingers (like me) it will be a keyboard slightly harder to use, but only slightly.
That's all I can see. Overall, the positives outweigh the disadvantages for me, and I am satisfied with my purchase. I can now think of using my Kindle for Global Wireless DX papers on a regular basis, because of the PDF reader. The size of the screen and screen rotation to make the experience more overall immersive reading.
Overall, the Kindle DX Global Wireless feels more like the text and less as a unit and is close to the stated objective the Kindle: for the device to disappear, leaving only the joy of reading.
