Is an Electronic Reader worth it?
Are the books significantly cheaper if you only buy the electronic version? Or do textbooks and such come with a digital version and the book itself? If used mostly for textbooks not so much novels and stuff.
Would you say it's worth it, if so the Kindle or Sony?
Yea I was thinking if worth it then I'd try to get one on black friday on the net or something tehe
Lots of textbooks are PDF files and the Kindle doesn't support them nearly as well as the Sony Readers do. Another thing to consider about the Kindle is that it uses location numbers instead of page numbers, which means it's virtually impossible to cite references without having access to a print version. The Sony Readers do use page numbers and changing the font size doesn't alter that. I'm not a student but I have heard lots of good things about the NookStudy software but I haven't really heard much about the textbook redition on the Nook device. The Sony Readers are on sale right now at SonyStyle.com. The Kindle won't be reduced for Black Friday but some store might have a bundle deal on it. Rumor has it that Best Buy will have the Nook wi-fi for $99.99 but keep in mind that it's last year's screen technology and, having done lots of research into the big three readers, I do know that the Nook is quite lacking in features such as landscape orientation and collections for organization. The dictionary and annotations features on the Nook are also very cumbersome and quite behind the Kindle and Sony in that regard.
