Girl, Interrupted $7.12 Based on Susanna Kaysen's acclaimed journal-memoir, Girl, Interrupted bears inevitable resemblance to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and pale comparison to that earlier classic is impossible to avoid. The mental institution settings of both films guarantee a certain degree of déjà vu and at least one Oscar winner (in this case, Angelina Jolie), since playing a loony is any actor's dream gig. ... |

The Outsiders: The Complete Novel $8.98 No one was surprised when Francis Ford Coppola revisited Apocalypse Now, but his overhaul of The Outsiders raised a few eyebrows. Here was a modestly successful film better remembered for its Brat Pack cast than its Oscar-winning director, but The Complete Novel succeeds in bringing more of S.E. Hinton's young adult classic to the screen along with Coppola's epic vision. The story remains the same... |

The Kindle is arguably the most popular e-reader on the market today. It's no surprise then that so many people want to buy one and, of course, everyone wants to save a little money in the process.
The ability to read books, magazines, newspapers and now blogs (with the latest 3G edition) provides so much convenience for so many that the prices on this e-reader don't necessarily need to be discounted in order for it to sell. The Kindle really sells itself and, even at full retail, can be considered a bargain. Downloadable book titles cost about half of what you would pay for them hardcover in a bookstore, so you are really saving money just by using an e-reader rather than buying traditional books.
That being said, the price on a new Kindle can still be a stretch for some, if not most, people who would like to purchase one for themselves or as a gift. If you are searching online for the best deal, keep the following points in mind.
Consider Used or Refurbished: Check an online auction site such as eBay for previously owned Kindles. While this may seem a bit risky, there are so many safeguards in place now for these sites (especially eBay, where sellers receive feedback that is important for future sales) that the risk is minimal and the savings may make it worthwhile. Refurbished is preferable over used as you may also get a warranty with a refurbished unit.
Search for Coupons or Discount Codes: Using a coupon, no matter how small, toward your purchase can help. If you really would rather buy brand-new, this is the way to go. You may need to apply for a credit card or sign up for something in order to get the deal being offered, so just be aware of what you're getting into and be sure that it's worth the discount being offered in return. Also, free shipping counts as a good money-saving deal with your purchase (going to a retail store in person would cost in time and gas money).
Track Online Specials and Deals: From time to time, online retailers such as Amazon will offer special deals and discounts. Find a blog or other website that is dedicated specifically to providing up-to-date information on specials for e-readers. Visit the site often to find the best deals online all in one place and plan your purchase accordingly.

Which is better, NOOKcolor or the Kindle?
Ok, well I'm 14 band I'm looking for something I can read with everyday so I don't have to go to the bookstore every weekend. Which is more duarble, reliable, and has better battery life? What do you think I should choose?
I like books, it's just every weekend I have to go to the store and buy a new book for like $12 because we have to read a book a week, so I would like to be able to just download them and read them at my house..
Hi Sawyer. Most people choose an ereader for the wrong reasons and then say it's best. Inform yourself! For example, if you love to read, DON'T get the iPad (it's not an ereader but you can read ebooks on it) or the Nook Color. You want an ereader with e-ink. Even there, there are differences. You want the best e-ink as it's easiest on the eyes, and that would be Pearl e-ink. Kindle has that.
There are SO many differences, I usually send people to a blog where it's all explained in easy-to-understand language. They've picked out the most important differences in several different ereaders. Check it out and inform yourself--don't trust people here: http://best-ereaders.blogspot.com
PS In my opinion, Kindle WiFi + 3G beats them all as an e-reader.
