On Illumination, Earth, Wind & Fire take a hip-hop strategy and turn it on its head, working rhymes and beats into their still pudding-smooth harmonies and sun-warmed, ethereal soul. For other bands, it would have never worked, but Earth, Wind & Fire have always been masters at sophisticated genre-piling. If anyone has earned the right, it's frontmen Philip Bailey and Maurice White and the rest of...

Can you upload non-amazon eBooks to your kindle 2 ?

okay so before i buy a kindle to i want to know the following-from people WITH the kindle 2 :P ;
-Can i upload non-amazon ebooks to the kindle? (i have a few from previous years so can i put them on it?)
-Is it worth it?
-Do you think it's comfortable to hold? i mean the device is awfully big.
-how many books can it hold up to?

Thanks guys :)

Yes, you can upload non-Amazon books like PDF or Word documents to the Kindle 2. The Kindle 2 can hold around 1500 books, and Amazon will even help you to keep your purchased books, as you can see here:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fgp%2Fhelp%2Fcustomer%2Fdisplay.html%3Fie%3DUTF8%26nodeId%3D200386160&tag=more_info-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957

I love my Kindle 2 very much. If you're considering to get the Kindle, just get it and you won't regret. Right now I've read over 10 books with the Kindle, and I really like the idea that I can bring and store all the books with the handy device. Besides, it uses the e-ink technology, it is really clear like reading books; and even I read with the device for long hours, I don't feel tired. My only complaint is the white case, right now all the Kindles are in white color... I think it will be cool if I can have a black or deep blue color Kindle ;)

I suggest you to read this review from a top reviewer who is also a book lover, it outlines quite a lot of benefits of the Kindle and also why it is worth especially at the end of the review:

BTW, there are some websites like these two, where you can find more than ten thousand free books for the Kindle. So no need to go to library to borrow them, you can actually own them:

Hope this helps.
