Has anyone in the UK bought a Kindle?
I'm giving serious thought to buying a e-book reader.
I've looked at the sony one in Waterstones, and the Kindle on Amazon, which has recently become available in the UK.
The kindle seems the easier of the two to use, but I wondered if anyone owns one.
What do you think of the book choice? Are UK authors easy to get hold of? Is it cost effective?

You'll have to run some searches to see if Amazon offers the types of books that you like, but it may be harder to find UK authors at this point since the Kindle was just released there.
Amazon has stated that they are working toward setting up the Amazon UK site for a Kindle store in the near future, so that's something to consider too.
At present, you may have an easier time finding UK authors from ePub selling websites like Waterstone's and WHSmith. These won't work on a Kindle but will work on Sony's ebook readers and a number of other devices that support Adobe DRM.
The most important thing to do before buying an ebook reader is to research ebook selection where you live. Here's a list on more ebook websites to check.
