Is this shortage (out of stock) of Amazon Kindle a deliberate marketting ploy?
It doesn't make sense to me. Amazon Kindle was "sold out" in 5 hours after its debut (they never disclose how many). It's been out of stock for 3 weeks, and Amzon cannot even predict how long your order takes. Ebay seller is fetching $800-1000 for it. It doesn't require an special part as it's basically SONY Reader + EVDO Cell phone, both are available from many stores. Besides, Jeff Bezo had 2 years to plan to sell this. Am I the only person who thinks there is something wrong here?
What you have are ebay sellers snagging up the stock of hot items as soon as it comes online for sale or in stores much like they did during the Sony PS2 fiasco. They had their people stand in lines at stores for hours to grab as many as they could knowing there would be a shortage and then sold them for rediculous prices. You have to beat em to the punch.
These type of ebay sellers are predators and should be avoided at all costs.
