No, I am not just trying to cast reference to the Lord of the Rings. I am casting reference to that great work of fiction. Just as the epic story goes on about the one ring that can change the fate of all in the land; manufacturers would love to have the one digital reader that all would want. When it comes to eBook readers, the Kindle had a great start as the front runner. Just as peace could not last in Middle-Earth, the war for market share began for digital readers.
Barnes and Noble came out with the Nook; funny name, different story. Sony Readers, the Ectaco jetBook, Cybook Opus eBook reader and others are now available. Apple introduced the iPad as a quasi-laptop/digital reader and caused a concern for those that sold devices that just work as digital readers.
Not so fast though. The lines are blurred now with the Apple iPad, as to what is considered the best type of device to deliver digital content for books, magazines, newspapers and other similar media. I am not going to enter in to the fray and declare one device as being the best. I will offer price and features comparisons. The blogosphere is full of consumers debating the merits of one device over another.
A recent surge in price drops occurred and the competition is heating up. It is great news, for those who are looking to buy. Barnes & Noble has a new Wi-Fi only model of the Nook eReader, and cut the cost of the 3G Nook.
Amazon followed quickly with a drop of their price on the Kindle with 3G. The price is significantly lower than an iPad. Amazon cites the facts that their reader is a mere 10.2 ounces and can be read in bright sunlight. Some devices like the iPad, currently, have backlit screens that are difficult to read in sunlight.
Amazon has the advantage over Apple and Barnes&Noble with the number of books, that are New York Times bestsellers. Barnes&Noble claims a larger number of titles, but according to Amazon, fewer Best Sellers. Apple currently has the least amount of available titles for their iPad, but they have a bookstore called iBooks, that has gathered good reviews. Apple also offers the ability to run the Kindle app on their devices.
Apple has a nice device in the iPad, but from the comments I've read online, the weight and backlit screen of the iPad, are a barrier. The iPad will not be replacing devices such as the Kindle and Nook, from Middle-Earth and right here on plain Earth, for now.

Where can I find my eBook on my computer?
I downloaded a book a few minutes ago, and I can't find the book on my computer to put on my jetBook.I've tried searching my computer, but it isn't showing up. Please help!
Go through the motions of downloading it again, but this time make a note of where it saves the downlaod. You could either stop there, or you could specify a folder to save it to, and download it again.
