How to operate my Sony eReader properly?
I got a Sony eReader for Christmas and I have a few questions about it.
1. How do I charge it? The manual says to keep it plugged into you computer until the red light goes off. I did that, but when I turned it on the battery was not fully charged. I was also wondering what the 'M' and 'S' mean next to the battery at the bottom left hand of the screen?
2. What are the best sites for eBooks? Free books are preferred, but if you know a site that has great deals on eBooks, please list it as well.
I know there was something else I was gonna ask, but it has left my mind completely. Maybe I'll remember it and add it later.

1. Plug it into your computer and keep the computer on. If you are using a laptop, plug in the laptop. It will take about 4 hours to charge completely from a dead battery.
The "M" or "S" next to the battery icon is the font size you have selected.
2. Start with the Sony Reader Store. It has all the new releases at the same prices as the other big bookstores. It also has the bargain section and in there you will find a selection of freebies. Also, try using the Library Finder, it is a link into the public library system so you can borrow books for two weeks at no charge. Google Books also has a link in the Reader Store, and you can get free classics through there.
After you have tried all that, you can check out your favorite authors' websites and those of publishing houses for free books. Sometimes they will give away newish books to get you interested in a particular author or a series that has another book coming out.
Unfortunately, book prices are regulated by the publisher, so the prices are pretty much the same all over, but you can shop all the independent ebookstores and see if you can find a better deal on something you like. Just search e-book on the web and you will find lots of online retailers. Just remember, you can't shop at amazon or barnes & noble and always check your format to make sure it is compatible before you purchase.
