Kindle vs Sony e-books. which is bettter?
Kindle is a walking encyclopedia, and runs off of signals like phones do....however live where there's not always a signal (south of seattle). With a sony, you have do download books on a computer first. does anyone have a kindle in this area? and how well does it work? I'm going for convience and best technology, not looks.
I've had a Sony PRS-505 for a month and a half, and I'm very satisfied with it.
There are a lot of differences between the Sony ebook devices (there are currently 2 models, the 505 and the 700) and the Kindle, not just the Whispernet. They use different formats, have support for different DRM schemes, different UIs, different content available in the official stores, etc.
I suggest visiting the Mobile Read wiki and asking questions on the forums. I was completely lost and extremely frustrated before I found that website. There are several people who have both devices who could probably help you.
