Having an online business is all about two things - Traffic & Conversion, without either of these you have nothing! Your 'business' will not survive unless you have both of these entities, so lets see how we can get you both.
Just to explain in basic terms and to show that we are alert to all levels of experience here, I'm going to quickly go over what exactly each of those two terms means, and why it's so important to have both.
Traffic This first term, traffic, is a fairly universal word for the online business person and probably needs no introduction for 99% of you.
Traffic - to put it simply - is a reference term for the people who visit your website (website visitors), or the people you direct to an affiliate offer that you may be promoting. Without a constant stream of traffic (visitors) you'll find it very difficult to earn a steady income online or any kind of income at all.
However essential it is, we don't just need traffic. It's not going to be that simple!
In order to convert that traffic (sell to them), we need targeted traffic and that brings me to our second essential factor in your online business.
Conversion Conversion rate can be explained as the number of people who take the appropriate 'action' that you initiated such as to buy a product or sign up for an email list.
An example: If I told you that one of may websites had a 10% conversion rate - which is an extremely good conversion rate, by the way - that would indicate that for every 100 people who visited my site, 10 of those people took the desired action, such as purchased my product or signed up to my email newsletter.
Those are essentially the two key pieces to making money online, period.
You not only need traffic (visitors to your website), you need targeted traffic (and lots of it) so that you can achieve a good, profitable conversion rate.
So where do I get targeted traffic?
There has been a massive shift in the affiliate industry in the past six months or so, it has been said that the mighty Google is no longer the king! No longer do we have to bow down to the once almighty to get our traffic (no bitterness there at all!), and we can get a more targeted source (of traffic) at a much cheaper rate than before, but where do we go now?
Here's a little true story about uncle Google...
I'm sure you have already heard this but not so long ago literally thousands of perfectly good affiliates and online marketers - even the big guys, the Gurus, who're spending millions - were suddenly banned for LIFE from the Google AdWords program.
Yes I put emphasis on the "LIFE" part.
They didn't just suspend them or give them a warning... They banned them FOR GOOD!!
Fact is, just in the past few weeks, they've cracked down even harder... I actually do not personally know ONE successful affiliate who still has an AdWords account!
So, my friends, AdWords is out of the window. What's next?
Google didn't just clamp down on its AdWords account members (who were earning them millions!)... They clamped down across all areas... Including SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
Oh yes, overnight thousands of affiliate websites were de-indexed overnight, sending earnings down to nil!
Entire businesses were destroyed... Including some of ours! The future for the affiliate world looked bleak. Very bleak Indeed!
That has lead to a revolution, a revolution of people rushing elsewhere for their traffic sources like the good old days of the 'gold-rush' and boy did we strike gold!...
The biggest and Most Profitable Source of Targeted Traffic has been found!
Together, they're BIGGER THAN GOOGLE and offer MORE TARGETED TRAFFIC than that of Google, or any of the big search engines.
You might have guessed one of the sites I'm talking about...
Allow me to introduce you to...
Google themselves recognized the potential of this ever-growing phenomenon and twelve months or so ago announced that the only competitor they fear is Facebook... Wow!
Today Facebook receives a good deal MORE TRAFFIC Than Google in most of the major countries, maybe at the time you are reading this, there will be a super power known as Facebook!
Facebook Ads
Facebook launched their Ads platform, "Facebook Ads" to cater for precise targeting of traffic to suit their readership and Google knew it was over for them.
What makes Facebook Ads so great?
Let me explain by introducing you to the two core elements that make Facebook ads so great:
1.) Extreme traffic volume.
2.) Extensive targeting options.
On the Facebook Ads system, you can target your audience as deeply and as specifically as you want. Want to advertise to a 20 - 25 year old woman who's getting married soon? You can.
Want to advertise to fans of the 'Lady GaGa' who earn more than $30,000 per year in New York, NY a couple of months before her concert date in New York? You can.
The targeting options Facebook provide are absolutely amazing and so targeted that you are bound to get to the people that you really want.
The simple fact is that if you get the right Targeted Traffic to your website, affiliate offer or sales pages you will get a higher conversion rate and your business will be a real online money-making enterprise.
