eBook Reader to view the best patterns?
I work on industrial equipment on offshore oil rigs. I find myself often lugging my laptop or bulky books schematic in the shallows and other nasty places. I want to buy an ebook reader that allows me to diagrams (PDF) which are generally about twice the size of a regular 8.5 "X11" sheet. He will need scrolling 4 so that I can view the entire page in full screen. It must also have a search function, as I often find myself also looking for a single word in the 1500 + page manuals. It would be nice if it was small (hopefully small enough to fit in a pocket of great combinations). In addition, it would good that the device is designed robust (milspec shock proof, water proof, etc..) ooh yeah, and a backlight would be nice for those dark spaces cramped. Thank you!
Kindle DX is your best bet. There is a good review here of the ability it has on the PDF manipulation: http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http% 3A% 2F% 2Fwww.amazon.com 2Freview%%% 2FR3M5EUCQ1DFAB 3Fie 3DUTF8%%% 26ref 3Dcm% 255F% 255Fcr%% 255Fperm 255Frdp & tag = moreinfo-po-20 & linkCode = UR2 & camp = 1789 & creative = 390957 It should be able to handle Most of what you want, but not shock proof, waterproof, etc. I'm afraid. You can go for the insurance for 2 years more security without worrying about breaking within 2 years: And http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001XURWZM?ie=UTF8&tag=moreinfo-po-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B001XURWZM it is not good for the ebook reader to have backlight. I had the Kindle 2 and reading about it is really like reading a piece paper, but the feeling is completely different if it was backlit. If you want to read in the dark, just get the Mighty Bright here, it works well with Kindle DX too: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000TXZIDM?ie=UTF8&tag=moreinfo-po-20&linkCode = as2 & camp = 1789 & creative = 390957 & = CreativeASIN B000TXZIDM BTW, I remember I read this review when I get my Kindle 2, see if it helps: http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location = http% 3A% 2F% 2Fwww.amazon. com% 2Freview 2FR2DUM7S4XW06QN%%%%% 3DUTF8 3Fie 26ASIN 3DB00154JDAI 255Fcmt 255Fpr 26nodeID%%%% 3D% 255F% 26ref 3Dcm 255Fcr%% & tag = moreinfo-po-20 LinkCode & UR2 & camp = 1789 & creative = 390957 =
