How does Amazon Kindle work?
So, I was just messing around the other week online and found Amazon Kindle. I love to write, anything from poetry to short stories. That's how I stumbled upon this. I see that it's basically a way to buy electronic books instead of reading actual paper books. I saw that you can publish your own stuff too. But when you go to add a new item, it asks for a bunch of stuff. Is this a way that an unpublished author could attempt to make money? Or is this basically just for books that have only been published? And with content rights, as long as I'm not plagiarizing, I have the rights to upload it, right? Thanks for anyone who can help me out with this.
Unpublished authors can publish on Kindle. You are responsible for doing your own advertising however. There are a few who do so, you may want to check out the kindle forums and look for indie authors there. And yes, as long as you're not plagiarizing you're fine.
